Curchi Monastery to be restored by 2009
President Vladimir Voronin today participated in an away meeting of the Supervisory Board for the restoration of the Curchi Monastery, Orhei district, central Moldova, which took place at the concerned monastic compound. Participating in the meeting was also Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu, Minister of Transport end Road Aministration.
The participants in the meeting considered the first reconstruction stage and the launching of the second renewal stage.
Voronin was informed that at the end of the first stage, the construction of the Birth of the Mother of God church and the Saint Dumitru churches, the compound s library and museum, etc. is to be completed.
The issue of projecting and reconstructing the segment of the Orhei — Curchi Monastery highway was also tackled at the meeting.
The Supervisory Board members said that all the restoration works are to be completed by 2009.
